Always fun to see what song will be playing when the couple makes their entrance and HOW they will enter. We’ve seen quite a few great entrances from couples who run out like their making an NFL entrance on to the football field, to couples who glide in to the reception hall like Fred and Ginger, couples who do butterfly, twerk and/or pimp walk their way in to the reception hall. Always fun!
Not Quite What I was Going For…But I Like!
Good morning! Still editing and shooting over here. We’re excited about our lineup this weekend and looking forward to celebrating the special dad’s in our lives. I want to share a little back story about this bouquet shot that may shed some light on my creative process. We all have shot list when covering a wedding (mental or written); but when we cover a wedding I try to submerge myself in to the emotion of the day and capture details that tell the story and show the mood of the day. We find inspiration for a given shot in the moment and sometimes I’ll see a shot in my head and go for the shot. This mirror and bouquet shot was one such moment. Charlene and I positioned and repositioned the bouquet until it was just right; except this time around although I still love this shot, the shot did not quite turn out how I saw it in my head. This happens. This is how we grow. Take chances. Test. Try. Grow and always keep pushing ourselves.

We had an amazing time working with this beautiful couple. These two have great chemistry and they were surrounded by love! We’ve been meaning to share this and other wedding snippets but having been elbow deep in wedding and portrait post work combined with a full calendar this wedding season we haven’t been posting updates nearly as much as we would like to. So I share this wedding photo recap with the quintessential slacker blogger’s promise that I’ll be better and back on track with posting starting now. Check out the recap. More to follow!

Nick Cannon Guest DJ For Liquid Sundays
Nick Cannon aka DJ Ncredible was on the 1′s and 2′s last Sunday at Foxwoods popular summer pool party better known as Liquid Sundays. DJ Ncredible closed his set with a sweet shout out to his wife Mariah Carey. DJ Jove also did a set for New England’s hottest pool party of the summer. The party just keeps getting better every weekend. Check our photo recap!
Behind the Scenes Fridays: Testing, Testing . . .
That’s me! Without makeup! Normally I would never let that get out lol! However, Kesha and I were testing the new Canon 5D Mark III and I was so impressed that I agreed to put it up! This photo is completely unedited, yet its clear and crisp, greatly utilizing the natural light in the room. We are SO EXCITED for all the beautiful pictures we will be able to take at all of our upcoming weddings and events. Our calendar is also filling up so quickly, even for next year! You can call us or book a consultation with us by visiting our website at www.lashtolens.com using the Book Now option! We would love to creatively capture your special memories!

Poolside With Kelly Rowland and The Dream
The lineup for Liquid Sundays is major this year! Yesterday was no exception. Kelly Rowland, The Dream and entourage lounged poolside, danced with friends, and mingled with fans at MGM Grand At Foxwoods.
After the pool party Kelly Rowland and The Dream performed live at the Foxwoods’ Fox Theatre. We were there to capture the festivities. Check out our photo recap!

Any Given Playground
One can find many a great backdrop at any given playground. This little playground is in the backyard of my eldest son’s elementary school. I captured these candids of my youngest boys (the twins) during some down time while visiting my eldest son’s school for field day. The playground is a popular location for child portraiture and it really makes sense.
Your child subject will be in his or her element,
good time induced smiles will be authentic,
and any awkwardness from photographer’s presence will be diminished. The best part is that at any given playground their are so many interesting structures and lines to play around with; slides, grids, bars and the like. Will be doing this again with all 3 of my boys soon!
